The Role

As a Principal Engineer at Viaplay, you will be contributing hands-on by engineering scalable and resilient back-end systems in Node.js and Rust running in AWS, as well as driving the overall technical vision and direction of our platform. You will join an autonomous metrics driven team of experts to deliver engineering solutions aligned with long-term technical and product visions. We build our entire product in-house, with apps in native languages and a microservices backend on AWS, transitioning toward an event-driven, serverless architecture.

What we’re looking for We are looking for a passionate and experienced developer with a genuine interest in software engineering and leadership. Extensive professional experience developing customer-focused, web-based services using JavaScript, and TypeScript. And other modern programming languages like Rust or PythonProven ability to design highly scalable, resilient cloud services on AWSStrong experience setting technical direction, influencing peers,
