Nippon Sanso Holdings Corporation (NSHD) is one of the leading companies in the industrial and medical gases business. We have a diversified involvement in broad industries such as healthcare, food, manufacturing, metallurgy, chemical products, electronics and energy.

The Competitive Edge Intern will be based in Madrid, European Headquarters, and will be part of the Competitive Edge team, reporting to the Competitive Edge Director.

Main Responsibilities The selected intern will support the Competitive Edge Europe team in productivity, value creation, digitalisation, replication of best practices and performance improvement initiatives across European regions and functions.

The role offers practical exposure to business analytics, project management, continuous improvement, digital transformation, benchmarking and international collaboration. Responsibilities include:

- Supporting productivity and business excellence projects across functions and regions.
- Analysing operational data and preparing dashboards, reports and performance insights using Power BI, Excel and Microsoft tools.
- Assisting with project tracking, governance and best-practice replication through Zenshin and related systems.
- Participating in benchmarking, process improvement and automation initiatives.
- Collaborating with international stakeholders in project meetings, workshops and learning sessions.
- Developing knowledge in continuous improvement methodologies, project management, business analytics and digital transformation.





This role offers hands-on exposure to European business improvement programs while building analytical, project management and operational excellence skills.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's student in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, Management Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Organisation or a similar discipline.
- Good working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft 365.
- Familiarity with Power BI or similar analytical tools is an advantage.
- English is mandatory. Spanish is preferred. Other European languages are considered an advantage.
- Analytical mindset, curiosity, attention to detail, structured problem solving, strong communication, teamwork, digital literacy and a proactive attitude.
- No prior professional experience required, although academic projects or internships in analytics or data‑related roles will be valued.
