International Shipping Company Seeking DPA Department Officer An international shipping company is looking to recruit a professional for its Designated Person Ashore (DPA) Department.

The successful candidate must hold a Nautical qualification and have attained the rank of Master Mariner (Captain) or Chief Officer .

A high level of English is essential, as all communications are conducted in this language.

Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience in a similar position.

Additional Requirements:

· Knowledge and practical experience with the ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, and MLC Codes and Conventions.

· Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS).

· Knowledge and experience in accident investigations and risk assessments.

· Experience in preparing vessels for SIRE, CDI, and PSC inspections.

· Experience in preparing and conducting internal and external ISM/ISPS audits.





· Experience with navigation equipment and ECDIS systems.

Main Responsibilities within the DPA Department:

· Oversee and promote vessel safety.

· Act as the link between shipboard personnel and shore management, ensuring compliance with international regulations and company policies.

· Implement and monitor the Safety Management System (SMS).

· Provide training and familiarization programs.

· Conduct incident investigations.

· Perform onboard audits and inspections of vessels.

The position is based in Madrid, Spain , and candidates must be available for worldwide travel as required.

Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
