The Opportunity

This is your chance to support our environment local team in Madrid, as well as contributing to the successful delivery of projects across Europe. You'll manage environmental permitting and due diligence projects, coordinating environmental specialists and other technical disciplines. You'll be responsible for key technical decisions, project delivery and providing technical support across other projects.

As a Senior Environmental Consultant At Arup, You Will

- Lead the processing of environmental permitting and due diligence projects in Spain.
- Prepare documentation for environmental planning and permitting (SEA, EIA, IEA).
- Contribute to the definition of environmental project strategy.
- Provide environmental inputs to design projects.
- Support business development to secure a strong pipeline of work in Spain and Europe.

Value

- At least 10 years of experience in Spanish environmental planning and permitting, with deep knowledge of the regulatory framework, legislative requirements and stakeholder landscape across public and private sectors.




- Experience developing and processing environmental permitting procedures: Environmental Integrated Authorisation, Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
- Degree in a relevant discipline: Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Forest Engineering, Ecology or equivalent qualification.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in international and multidisciplinary environments, working closely with urban planning, design and engineering colleagues.
- Ability to coordinate and influence multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on business development and identifying new market opportunities.
- Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish.

Desirable
- Familiarity with Portuguese or French environmental legislation and permitting systems.
- Portuguese language skills.
