- Design and implement backend services and APIs using Node.js, Python, or equivalent technologies.
- Design, build, and maintain healthcare and laboratory system interfaces.
- Integrate laboratory analyzers and medical equipment with LIS/HIS and other enterprise platforms.
- Implement integrations using:
- HL7 v2.x
- ASTM
- FHIR
- REST APIs
- TCP/IP
- Serial communications where required
- Vendor-specific protocols
- Develop bidirectional interfaces for:
- Work orders
- Patient and demographic information
- Sample identification
- Test requests
- Analyzer results
- Flags and instrument status
- Validation workflows
- Parse, transform, validate, route, and persist healthcare messages.
- Map proprietary equipment protocols into standardized internal data models.
- Troubleshoot communication problems between instruments, middleware, LIS, HIS, and external systems.
- Analyze protocol documentation and vendor interface specifications.
- Implement message acknowledgements, retries, error handling, queues, and reconciliation mechanisms.
- Maintain complete audit trails and traceability for exchanged information.
- Design interfaces capable of operating reliably in mission-critical laboratory environments.
- Build tools for monitoring interface connectivity, message flow, errors, retries, and equipment status.
- Participate in cloud architecture and deployments on AWS.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Perform code reviews, automated testing, debugging, and production support.
- Work closely with laboratory specialists, product teams, integration engineers, DevOps, QA, and equipment vendors.
