Experteer Overview In this role you will lead the design, development, and testing of embedded firmware for Novanta products. You will work closely with hardware, software, and testing teams to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions. You’ll implement new features, support motion control algorithms, and contribute to product propulsion from concept to production. - Develop and maintain firmware running on Novanta products
- Implement new features for existing products, including feedback interfaces, communication protocols, and motion control algorithms
- Participate in design and development of new products
- Implement proofs of concept for novel products or features
- Develop and maintain CI/CD libraries
- Collaborate with hardware to review schematics and assist with component selection
- Work with software team to create libraries and applications for customers




- Collaborate with testing team to define test plans
- Review and improve external documentation (manuals, datasheets) and internal architecture documentationResponsabilidades
- MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (or related technical discipline)
- Around 8 years of experience
- Proficiency in C, including C in resource-constrained embedded environments
- Strong fundamentals in software design and maintainability
- Proficiency in microprocessor bare-metal development with real-time constraints
- Hands-on hardware bring-up, system debugging, and code optimization
- Experience with MCU peripherals: I2C, SPI, CAN, USB, UART, GPIO
- Ability to read schematics, datasheets, and application notes
- Experience with version control software
- Experience in software testing procedures
