Experteer Overview In this role you contribute to the definition, engineering and performance assessment of microwave instruments for Earth observation space missions. You will engage in studies and proposals for passive and active microwave systems, including radiometers, SAR, altimeters and scatterometers, aligned with Airbus missions. You will drive system-level trade-offs, budgets and validation strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end instrument concepts that meet mission needs and quality standards. This is a technically challenging role with significant impact on future space instruments and proposals.Compensaciones / Ventajas
- Establish system and instrument requirements and assess performance for current and future microwave instruments
- Provide expert support for microwave payload studies at department level
- Identify major design trade-offs and contribute to instrument concepts and budgets
- Conduct system engineering from concept to development for microwave-based remote sensing missions
- Translate mission requirements into system requirements and allocate them to architecture elements
- Develop and maintain system budgets and ensure overall coherence
- Define key technologies and trade-off criteria for proposed solutions
- Define data processing needs to meet quality specifications for products
- Manage industrial contracts for instrument concepts or subsystems
- Analyze RF design and antenna performance, including radiation patterns and cross-polarization
- Support end-to-end instrument performance budgets in coordination with ground processing
- Participate in validation and verification strategies (on-ground and in-orbit)
- Interface with customers and participate in reviews
- Contribute to proposals for future AOI instruments and missions
- Provide technical coordination for instrument development teams and project disciplines
- Contribute to roadmaps for microwave instrument technologies
- Lead or contribute to instrument development concepts and industrialization proposalsResponsabilidades
- 3 years of experience in remote sensing microwave instruments development
- Strong knowledge of either active or passive microwave instrument concepts (SAR, altimetry and/or radiometry)
- Strong knowledge of signal processing
- Familiarity with ESA program phases and development cycles
- Knowledge of space systems, antennas, RF engineering and electrical interfaces
- Experience with RF measurements on flight equipment
- Experience defining verification and validation campaigns
- Ability to work in small teams and autonomously
- Ability to manage workload across multiple projects
- Ability to lead in a multidisciplinary, transnational environment
- International experience is a plus
- English at negotiation level (written and spoken)
