In this role you will assess complex transactions and advise the business on structuring operations from a risk perspective. You will contribute to informed decisions by risk committees and ensure prudent management aligned with Spark's objectives. You work within a dynamic, cross-functional team to manage credit risk in a startup-focused environment. This role combines rigorous analysis with business-facing guidance to enable growth with discipline. You will operate at the intersection of finance, risk, and entrepreneurship, shaping how BBVA Spark supports scaleups.

• Assess complex transactions from a risk perspective and provide recommendations
• Advise the business team on structuring operations with prudent risk considerations
• Contribute to decision-making by risk committees with technical judgment
• Ensure alignment of risk management with Spark's strategic objectives
• Apply credit risk assessment methodologies to non-conventional financial structures (startup financing, venture debt, convertibles)




• Stay updated on regulatory frameworks and wholesale banking risk policies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in international and dynamic environments
• Communicate risk insights effectively to multiple stakeholders

Responsabilidades
• 6–8 years in enterprise or corporate risk analysis, venture debt, or financing for high-growth companies
• Experience in international environments; familiarity with European startup and VC ecosystems valued
• Strong understanding of technology-based business models, unit economics, and investment fund dynamics
• Expertise in credit risk assessment methodologies and corporate finance
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and wholesale banking risk policies
• Ability to assess startups and venture debt structures (non-conventional financial arrangements)
• High level English required (C1); additional European languages a plus
