ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
As a Project Lead reporting to the Senior Project Portfolio Manager within SITA’s Aircraft Business Unit, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of product and service projects for airline, avionics manufacturer, and air transport customers. Working in a fast-paced international environment, you will coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Customer Service and Operations, Product Management, and other functions in more than 20 countries.
Success in this role requires clear communication, sound judgement, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You will build effective stakeholder relationships, resolve delivery issues pragmatically, and foster a collaborative and customer-focused team environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead projects through the full life cycle, from definition and planning through delivery, transition to operations, and formal closure, ensuring that agreed business and customer outcomes are achieved.
- Translate business and technical requirements into clear project plans, budgets, schedules, resource needs, dependencies, and risk responses, drawing on specialist input where required.
- Build and coordinate geographically distributed, cross-functional teams, establishing clear responsibilities and securing the resources required for delivery.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, and changes; identify delivery constraints early and escalate promptly when decisions or support are required.
- Apply established portfolio and project management standards, including governance reviews, status reporting, decision tracking, risk management, and executive communications.
- Manage customer and stakeholder communications, maintain alignment on priorities and expectations, and present concise progress updates and recommendations to senior management.
- Lead defined workstreams, sub-projects, or critical delivery activities within larger programmes when required, remaining accountable for delivery through completion.
- Promote a collaborative, customer-focused, and results-oriented team culture.
Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering.
- Minimum of three years’ project management experience delivering communications, telecommunications, or network infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects across scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Knowledge of predictive, Agile, and hybrid project delivery approaches.
- Sufficient technical understanding of communications and networking environments to work effectively with engineering and operations teams, challenge assumptions, and manage technical dependencies.
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional and geographically distributed teams while managing multiple priorities with limited supervision.
- Strong team player who collaborates openly, supports colleagues, shares accountability, and contributes constructively to common goals across functions and locations.
- International experience gained through employment, project assignments, or education, demonstrating the ability to work effectively across countries and cultures.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage technical specialists, commercial teams, product managers, operations teams, suppliers, and customers.
