We are delighted to be recruiting an experienced Fish & Chip Fryer for an exciting new traditional British Fish & Chip Shop opening in the Villamartín / La Zenia area of Spain.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a brand-new operation from the beginning and help establish a traditional British-style chippy focused on quality fish, perfectly cooked chips, consistency and great customer service.

The Role

We are looking for someone who understands what makes a proper British fish & chip shop. You will be responsible for delivering consistently high-quality food while maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, organisation and food safety.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and frying fresh fish to a consistently high standard
- Preparing and cooking traditional chip-shop chips
- Preparing batter and maintaining consistency throughout service
- Operating and maintaining commercial frying equipment
- Managing fryer temperatures and cooking times during busy services
- Ensuring excellent portion control and presentation
- Monitoring oil quality and maintaining frying standards
- Preparing fish and other traditional chip-shop menu items
- Maintaining excellent HACCP, hygiene and food safety standards
- Managing stock rotation and minimising food waste
- Keeping the kitchen and frying areas exceptionally clean
- Supporting the owners/management with the successful launch of the business

We would particularly like to hear from candidates with previous experience working in a traditional British or Irish fish & chip shop.

You should be:

- An experienced Fish & Chip Fryer or experienced chip-shop professional
- Confident working a busy frying range independently
- Knowledgeable about fish preparation, batter, chips and oil management
- Fast, organised and calm during busy periods
- Passionate about producing consistently good food
- Reliable, hardworking and professional
- Committed to excellent hygiene and kitchen standards
- Comfortable working as part of a small, friendly team
