Product Owner - Spanish real estate portal

A new role with significant scope to shape how product development works at an established digital business.

About thinkSPAIN

thinkSPAIN is the leading Spanish real estate portal specialising in international buyers. Since 2003, we have helped people around the world find property in Spain. Available in 12 languages, the portal features over 250,000 properties from more than 2,000 advertisers and serves millions of visitors and subscribers, supported by a team of around 20 professionals.

The role

We are creating a dedicated Product Owner role to accelerate product development and growth by bringing greater structure to planning and delivery, strengthening the bridge between business priorities, customer needs and our development team, and translating these priorities and opportunities into clear, precise and testable work.

You will own the backlog and forward planning process, help decide what should be built and why, follow priorities through delivery, test changes thoroughly, and continually use and review the live product to identify improvements.

This is a hands-on product role requiring strong technical understanding, but the focus is on product ownership rather than software development.

This is a full-time, hybrid position, primarily based at our office in Valencia's Technology Park with the option to work some days remotely. Applicants must already be eligible to work in Spain; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

- Translate business priorities, customer needs and product improvement opportunities into clear, testable requirements, including user stories and acceptance criteria where appropriate.
- Own and prioritise a large backlog and establish forward planning through a practical roadmap or similar framework.
- Shape what enters the plan using user and customer feedback, product data, market insight, internal input and technical constraints.

- Continuously use and review the live product, proactively identifying opportunities to improve usability, functionality, conversion and reliability, and bring well-considered recommendations into planning.
- Carry out thorough functional and regression testing before releases, identifying edge cases, defects and potential risks.
- Act as the first point of product clarification for internal teams, resolving product questions before escalation to developers.
- Work closely with developers to clarify requirements, understand technical constraints and make timely decisions that keep delivery moving.
- Create and maintain practical documentation explaining key systems, integrations, workflows and product rules.
- Ensure relevant compliance requirements, including data protection, are identified and incorporated into product work, coordinating with specialists where needed.
- Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Customer Support and other teams on product needs including technical SEO, analytics and tracking.
- Own delivery as well as planning: proactively follow agreed work through, resolve ambiguity and help ensure priorities are completed efficiently.
- Establish effective product and development routines, including planning, refinement and review sessions, so priorities, decisions and progress remain clear.
- Use a range of discovery methods, including product data, customer feedback, usability testing and direct product observation, to identify and validate opportunities for improvement.

What we are looking for

- Experience as a Product Owner,

Product Manager or in a similar digital product role, ideally in marketplaces, portals, SaaS or other online products.
- Strong at turning business priorities and user/customer needs into precise, testable work and making pragmatic prioritisation decisions.
- A structured, analytical approach to testing, problem investigation and continuous product improvement.
- Enough technical knowledge to understand APIs, databases, integrations, data flows and system dependencies at a practical level.
- Comfort using browser developer tools, issue trackers, analytics platforms, API tools and error-monitoring systems.
- Ability to bridge business and technical teams, resolve ambiguity and keep work moving.
- Awareness of technical SEO, conversion tracking or AI-enabled product tools is useful but not essential.
- Highly organised, hands-on and comfortable managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-moving small business.
- Fluent written and spoken English, with excellent communication skills.

Why join thinkSPAIN?

This is a newly created role with real influence. Working directly with the CEO, development team and colleagues across the business, you will help establish a more structured product function and shape a platform used by millions of international property seekers and 2,000+ advertisers. If you enjoy turning business problems into well-defined product solutions and continually improving digital products, we would like to hear from you.
