Job Description

- In the context of the management, maintenance and further modernization of the maritime infrastructure (bridges and locks), POAB is looking for an Automation Expert, specialized in Operational Technology (OT).
- The assignment includes: maintenance and security of critical industrial automation systems, including PLC, SCADA systems and related components, within a complex and business-critical environment.

The consultant will be responsible for, among other things:

- He/she manages the OT (operational technology) systems of the bridge and lock controls.
- Further implementation of Cyber Security measures according to NIS and NIS2 in these systems.
- Updating and patching of all systems (PLC, IO systems, sensors, PCs, SCADA software, engineering software, OPC (Kepware), speed controllers, UPS, variable traffic signs, ...
- Program adjustments of PLC and Scada systems.

The mission is carried out within an environment characterized by:

- A critical character (port and infrastructure activities)
- A high-tech context (industrial automation)
- A highly regulated framework (cybersecurity, continuity of service)
- A complete on-site presence

- The presumed number of hours stated is only indicative and not binding. The entire duration of the assignment can consist of several contract periods. The stated number of hours will not be exceeded, but can be divided over different periods.




- The skill "Higher education (Bachelor/Master) or equivalent through experience" is not applicable for this assignment.
- On the other hand, a Master's degree or equivalent is required by experience.

- Demonstrable experience with Siemens Step 7 classic: construction HW config, communication with other systems, netpro, redundant PLC systems 400H (FH)-Should Have (Expert – 10 years)
- Demonstrable experience with Siemens WinCC V7/8, minimum version 7.4, construction of HW config redundant systems, setting up connections with PLC systems, Station configurator.-Should Have (Senior – 5 years)

Additional job information

- Report to: Project Engineer Port Infrastructure
- The maximum term is 2 years. The agreement starts with a period of 6 months but can be extended 3 times with a period of 6 months each.
- This is a full-time employment (38 hours/week). Part-time work to be discussed if necessary.
- The working time can be between 07:00 and 19:00 (5d/week). Weekend work can also be discussed. This depends on the progress on the sites.
- Working from home is not possible.
- The candidate performs his/her tasks in both Antwerp (95%) and Zeebrugge (5%).
- The own (company) car must be used. For business travel, a travel allowance must be specified in the inventory.
- POAB's PPE materials must be worn. It is not allowed to put on your own PPE materials.
