Role To support the engineering and design activities of utility-scale PV and BESS projects by assisting in the preparation of technical documentation, project layouts, engineering data inputs, and reporting deliverables. The role contributes to ensuring the accuracy, organization, and quality of engineering information throughout the project development lifecycle while developing practical knowledge of renewable energy systems and industry best practices.
Key responsibilities:
- Build and maintain financial models and prepare forecasts based on relevant industry operating metrics.
- Perform scenario, sensitivity and risk analyses considering macroeconomic and project-specific factors.
- Ensure accurate modelling of assigned portfolios, support the development of transaction models and enhance existing models.
- Contribute to process improvements relating to budgeting and forecasting.
- Identify key financial and non-financial risks and prepare proposed mitigation measures for review.
- Update financial models to reflect project developments, market changes and corporate actions.
- Analyze data requirements, model assumptions, derivation rules and model tracking.
- Support due diligence, financial modelling, risk analysis and mitigation activities for loans, equity investments and guarantees, supporting the overseeing of the issuance and cancellation of guarantees (bank guarantees/LCs) and the establishment of new credit facilities/lines
- Contribute to the structuring and execution of financing transactions for renewable energy projects.
- Monitor closed transactions, including applicable covenants, reporting obligations and key milestones.
- Prepare financing analyses and transaction materials designed to support funding options and access to additional sources of capital.
- Support the origination and screening of private-sector infrastructure finance opportunities through market research, lender contacts and initial deal analysis.
- Coordinate inputs for internal approval processes and liaise with Risk, Legal, Compliance and other relevant teams, managing cost approval processes and budget tracking
- Prepare, collect and maintain legal, financial and transactional documentation in line with approvals and internal requirements.
- Support the fulfilment of conditions precedent and other requirements required to achieve financial close in a timely manner.
- Participate in technical and commercial discussions with lenders, advisers and other stakeholders, with appropriate internal guidance.
- Coordinate assigned financing workstreams and liaise with internal departments, external advisers and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure assigned activities comply with applicable guidelines, policies, procedures, covenants and reporting requirements.
- Provide support in maintaining relationships with commercial lenders, financial partners, developers, investors and relevant authorities.
- Prepare presentations, financial analyses and other documents for internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to tax structuring analyses in coordination with internal and external specialists.
- Participate in country and project teams for planning and programming purposes.
- Draft, review and clarify messages, reports and transaction documents within the scope of the role.
- Provide technical and analytical support to the line manager and the wider Project & Structured Finance team.
Requirements
- Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a related field.
- MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
- At least three years of relevant professional experience in project finance, structured finance or a similar field.
- Strong financial modelling skills, including the ability to design and work with macros in Visual Basic.
- Previous experience in a Big Four firm, investment fund, bank or energy company is highly desirable.
- International experience is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing in English and Spanish Any additional language would be an advantage
- Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions and manage several priorities within agreed deadlines.
