Head of Regulatory Strategy & Public Policy (BioLNG & Biomethane)

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for translating European and national regulation into commercial advantage across bioLNG, biomethane, marine, and mobility markets. It combines regulatory interpretation, market design, and external policy engagement to inform where to buy, where to sell, how to structure transactions, and how to maximise value across frameworks such as RED, FuelEU Maritime, EU ETS, and related national schemes.

Positioned as a commercial strategy role—with strong legal and compliance interfaces—this is not a traditional legal advisory position. The remit focuses on identifying value pools created by regulation, anticipating policy developments, and converting them into actionable inputs for pricing, structuring, origination, and customer strategy

and exposure to multiple regulatory regimes, value creation depends not only on sourcing and delivery but also on navigating complex regulatory interactions across markets.

This role is critical in converting regulatory complexity into commercial advantage by directing molecules and certificates toward the highest-value markets, supporting customer decarbonisation strategies, and ensuring full value capture across the platform.

Reporting Line

Reports to senior leadership within the renewable fuels function, with close interaction across executive management, Legal, Compliance, and regional leadership teams.
