Experteer Overview
As a Vehicle Dynamics Controls Engineer, you will design and implement physics-based control algorithms for chassis systems at Tesla. You will work with cross-functional teams to advance motion control, including brake, steering, suspension, aero, and powertrain. Your work will span model-based development, MIL/SIL/HIL testing, and real-world validation at proving grounds and in customer fleets. This role offers the chance to shape high-performance dynamics features that define Tesla’s driving experience. You will contribute to safety, reliability, and industry-leading control architectures.

Compensaciones / Incentivos
• Develop control-oriented models of chassis systems for analysis and estimation
• Develop torque management algorithms for multi-motor platforms
• Develop traction control algorithms to manage tire slip across conditions
• Develop model-based deployment strategies for active aero actuators
• Evaluate novel subsystems to inform product architecture decisions
• Build and maintain MIL simulation environments for dynamics, control, and state estimation
• Develop and implement control algorithms to maximize stability and performance




• Develop estimation and monitoring algorithms to maximize safety and reliability
• Ensure stability and performance using SIL/HIL testing in-vehicle and on proving grounds
• Assist in testing, data analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization of control systems

Responsabilidades
• Strong background in first principles linear systems, state-estimation, and control design
• Solid understanding of vehicle dynamics and low/medium fidelity models for control
• Experience ground-up design, analysis, implementation, testing, and debugging of control systems
• Proven cross-functional collaboration and hands-on execution in fast-paced environments
• Basic understanding of electric drivetrains and chassis actuators (brakes, steering, suspensions)
• Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink/Python
• Proficiency in C/C++ for software development
• Real-world experience with vehicle dynamics and traction/torque vectoring controls
• Expertise in advanced control and estimation techniques, including embedded deployment
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent
