Amentum is seeking a Hydroblasting Technician to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Hydroblasting Technician will be responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Hydroblasting equipment. This position performs Hydroblasting operations safely and efficiently while maintaining equipment reliability, complying with established safety standards, and supporting project requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Operate Hydroblasting equipment safely and effectively for cleaning and surface preparation.
- Perform Hydroblasting activities in accordance with project specifications, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment remains operational and reliable.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform repairs as needed to restore functionality.
- Fabricate or manufacture replacement parts for Hydroblasting equipment when required.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, inspections, and replacement parts.
- Complete required manufacturer or industry training and maintain applicable certifications.
- Follow all manufacturer guidelines, safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Identify potential equipment issues and implement solutions to minimize operational disruptions and delays.
- Work independently while maintaining a high standard of safety, quality, and equipment performance.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating and maintaining high pressure Hydroblasting equipment or comparable machinery.
- Training or certification in the operation and maintenance of Hydroblasting equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to repair and fabricate replacement parts as needed.
