Main function and scope:

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with proven experience in the design, calculation and validation of mechanical systems subjected to shock, vibration and extreme loads. The successful candidate will join a project focused on the development of high-precision sensors and robotic systems, with the objective of reaching TRL9 in an extremely demanding operating environment and severe operating conditions.

Core functions:

Mechanical design of the system and its subassemblies.
Define structural solutions, materials, joints, encapsulation, isolation and protection strategies.
Perform structural and thermal calculations and simulations, dynamic analyses, and shock and vibration simulations.
Analyse stresses, deformations, natural modes and vibration transmission.
Evaluate thermal dissipation,



mechanical stability and system behaviour in demanding environments.
Develop modal analyses and assess design margins.
Define design criteria focused on reliability, repeatability, manufacturability and electronics integration.
Ensure the dimensional stability and mechanical robustness of the system.
Participate in the definition of environmental tests.
Interpret test results, identify failures and propose redesigns.
Collaborate in the technical planning of a multidisciplinary team.
Collaborate with electronics, firmware, systems and testing teams.

Required experience and candidate profile:

Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering or similar.
Senior-level experience in the mechanical design of systems subjected to severe dynamic environments.
Strong command of mechanical calculation, structural simulation and vibration analysis, preferably using ANSYS or similar FEA tools.
Experience with CAD/CAE too
