Role Description The Senior 3D SLAM Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Madrid Metropolitan Area. The person in this role will design, implement, and optimize 3D SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) algorithms for real-time applications, working with sensor data from cameras, LiDAR, and other modalities. Typical responsibilities include developing robust localization and mapping pipelines, integrating SLAM components into larger software systems, and performing performance tuning and benchmarking.

The Senior 3D SLAM Engineer will collaborate closely with data scientists, software engineers, and product teams to translate project requirements into reliable, scalable solutions.



The role also involves reviewing code, mentoring less experienced engineers, documenting technical approaches, and contributing to research, prototyping, and evaluation of new methods in 3D perception and robotics.

Qualifications

- Strong background in 3D SLAM, computer vision, and robotics, including experience with localization, mapping, and sensor fusion.
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages and tools (e.g., C++, Python, linear algebra libraries, and real-time systems development).
- Experience with 3D data processing and perception frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, PCL, ROS, or similar robotics and vision toolkits).
- Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and numerical optimization techniques for estimation and tracking.
- Familiarity with cloud or edge deployment environments and best practices for integrating AI and data-driven components into production systems.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; PhD or equivalent experience in SLAM or 3D perception is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams, communicate complex technical concepts clearly, and document solutions effectively.
- Experience mentoring peers, contributing to technical design discussions, and taking ownership of end-to-end engineering deliverables.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese is beneficial
