Automotive Data Analyst Benchmarking
Location: Madrid, Spain
Work Regime: Full-time & Hybrid attendance at the Madrid headquarters approximately every 68 weeks
Overview
We are looking for an Automotive Data Analyst to join the Benchmarking Department, supporting market intelligence and competitive benchmarking activities within the automotive and powertrain sectors.
The successful candidate will analyse large and complex databases, identify the most relevant information and transform data into clear, actionable insights. These insights will support leadership and technical teams in making informed strategic and operational decisions.
Mission
Working closely with the Benchmarking, R&D; and leadership teams, you will use data to:
- Support competitive benchmarking and market analysis activities.
- Identify relevant trends, patterns and performance indicators.
- Improve product design based on customer usage and market data.
- Contribute to reducing development time and costs.
- Support quality and compliance across engineering activities.
- Provide reliable information to guide strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse large volumes of structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
- Extract, organise and prioritise the most relevant information for the business.
- Use Microsoft Excel to manage and analyse large databases, including data validation, filtering, pivot tables, advanced formulas and reporting.
- Prepare dashboards, reports and analytical studies that clearly communicate key findings.
- Translate complex data into concise, practical insights for leadership and other stakeholders.
- Summarise and share the most important information with colleagues across Benchmarking, R&D; and other departments.
- Support market, product and competitor benchmarking analyses.
- Identify trends, correlations, risks and opportunities within the available data.
- Collaborate with technical and business teams to understand their information needs.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency and reliability throughout the analysis and reporting process.
Mandatory Requirements
- Professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence, market intelligence or a similar analytical role.
- Experience working with large databases and complex datasets.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to identify, structure and frame business and analytical use cases.
- Experience in data mining and statistical analysis.
- Ability to create dashboards, reports and executive-level presentations.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams, colleagues and senior leadership.
- Fluency in English.
Complementary Skills
- Experience with tools and platforms such as Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Python, Spotfire or Looker.
- Knowledge of data visualisation and business intelligence tools.
- Previous experience in the automotive, engineering, R&D; or benchmarking sectors.
- Understanding of automotive products, powertrain systems or market trends.
