Purpose of the Role
The Lead Developer is responsible for the technical direction, quality and successful execution of all development projects. Working closely with the Head of Delivery, they lead the development team, define technical solutions and ensure projects are delivered to the highest possible standard.
This role is suited to a highly experienced software architect and developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, mentoring others and establishing best practices. They will play a key role in shaping the company's technical capability while fostering a collaborative and high-performing development team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the technical delivery of all development projects.
Design scalable, secure and maintainable technical solutions.
Work across our streaming/OTT platforms, CMS and signal delivery systems.
Define development standards, coding practices and quality assurance processes.
Mentor,
support and develop the wider development team.
Allocate technical resources and oversee workloads across projects.
Review code, identify technical risks and maintain high engineering standards.
Work closely with the Head of Delivery to balance technical requirements with project objectives and timelines.
Drive continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies, tools and development practices.
Support technical recruitment and contribute to building a strong engineering culture.
