Role Description The Gemstone Jewellery Designer role is a remote, contract position responsible for designing original jewelry pieces centered on gemstones and lithotherapy concepts. Day-to-day tasks include developing design concepts and sketches, selecting appropriate gemstones and materials, and creating detailed specifications for each piece or collection. The designer collaborates with founders, artisans, or manufacturers to refine designs, ensure feasibility, and maintain quality standards. Responsibilities also include interpreting brand guidelines, researching trends in gemstone jewelry, preparing digital design files, and supporting the creation of product descriptions or visual assets.



The designer is expected to manage deadlines independently, communicate clearly in a remote setting, and adapt designs based on feedback and production considerations.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in jewelry design, including sketching and translating concepts into detailed technical drawings or digital designs.
- Experience working with gemstones, metals, and other jewelry materials, with an understanding of stone properties, settings, and durability.
- Proficiency with relevant design software (e.g., CAD tools for jewelry, Adobe Illustrator or similar) for creating production-ready designs and visual presentations.
- Knowledge or interest in lithotherapy, crystal healing, or holistic wellness, with the ability to integrate these themes into wearable designs.
- Attention to detail, good sense of proportion and aesthetics, and the ability to design cohesive collections aligned with brand identity.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for remote teamwork, including responsiveness, clarity in feedback, and documentation of design choices.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines as a contractor, with self-directed work habits and reliable time management.
- Previous experience in jewelry design, product design, or related fields; a portfolio showcasing gemstone or jewelry work is highly beneficial.
