NEW IDEA is an international fashion company driven by market insight, product development and trend awareness. Headquartered in Shaoxing, China, with a design office in Barcelona, we develop womenswear collections for international clients. The Role

We are looking for a fashion designer who combines strong design skills with commercial awareness and a client-oriented mindset. You will contribute to collection design and product development while also supporting client meetings, presentations and product discussions. The role is idóneo for someone who enjoys understanding why a product works in the market and turning client feedback into strong, relevant design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop womenswear collections and styles based on trends, brand positioning and client needs.

· Prepare styles, fabrics, colour cards, samples, collection boards and other materials for client meetings.

· Join client visits and support product presentations, collection reviews and design proposals.

· Understand and organise client feedback, translating it into clear design and sample-development direction.

· Monitor market trends, competitors and client sales performance, and provide commercially relevant product suggestions.

· Coordinate with design, sourcing, pattern-making and production teams in China to follow sample progress, quality and feasibility.

· Participate in European market research, store visits, fabric sourcing and industry trade fairs.

· Travel within Europe and to China when required for clients, markets and supply-chain development.

Requirements





· Degree or professional background in Fashion Design, Apparel Design or a related field.

· 3+ years of womenswear or fast-fashion design experience; experience with Inditex, Mango or comparable brands is highly valued.

· Strong fashion design skills with the ability to balance creativity, cost, lead time and commercial viability.

· Strong client awareness, commercial thinking, communication skills and confidence in meetings.

· Professional working proficiency in both English and Spanish, with the ability to participate independently in client meetings and communication.

· Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; strong hand-sketching, collection presentation or product-presentation skills are valued.

· Proactive, confident and comfortable working in a multicultural environment and travelling when needed.

· Interest in Chinese culture or learning Chinese is a plus; Chinese language skills are welcome but not required.
