In this role you will own the mechanical design of next‑gen robotic systems, from concept to production, ensuring robust, scalable platforms for real‑world deployment. You will lead cross‑functional integration with electrical and software teams to deliver high‑quality electromechanical solutions. The position sits at the heart of Helsing’s robotics engineering function, contributing to mission‑driven projects at European scale. You’ll shape mechanical architecture, drive best practices, and tackle complex trade‑offs that affect performance and manufacturability.

Compensaciones / Ventajas
• Lead detailed design and integration of robotic subsystems (actuators, chassis, motion systems) into 3D assemblies and engineering drawings
• Coordinate cross‑functional work with electrical and software teams for packaging, cable routing, thermal and sensor integration




• Define material selection and fabrication methods; perform FEA, stress, and tolerance analyses to meet functional, cost, yield, and lead‑time targets
• Establish mechanical engineering best practices, modelling standards, GDu0026T drawing controls, and documentation
• Evaluate system architectures during design reviews; identify risks and propose high‑impact optimisations for prototype to production ramp‑up

Responsabilidades
• Shipped complex robotic/mechatronic/automated systems with end‑to‑end ownership
• Expert 3D CAD modelling (ideally SolidWorks) and GDu0026T for precision manufacturing
• Structural/thermal FEA, static simulations, and tolerance stack‑up analysis
• Experience with diverse manufacturing xqbhyrx processes (CNC, injection moulding, sheet metal, additive) in high‑mix or low‑to‑medium volumes
• Strong ability to communicate technical decisions to cross‑functional stakeholders
• Willingness to work in a defence domain
