A predoctoral research contract is available within the project “DECODING AND MODULATION OF I2 IMIDAZOLINE RECEPTORS: MODULATORY LIGANDS FOR ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE” (PID2025-171044OB-I00), funded under the Knowledge Generation Projects programme and the actions for the training of predoctoral research staff associated with these projects, within the framework of the State Programme for Research and Experimental Development of the State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research 2024–2027.
Candidate profile: A degree in Pharmacy (or Chemistry with a Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry). Candidates will be evaluated based on their academic record;
experience in medicinal chemistry, organic compound synthesis, and in vitro biological assays in the field of pharmacology; previous research stays in academic laboratories or companies; and any other merits considered relevant for a profile aimed at training as a researcher in the field of medicinal chemistry,
with an interest in and/or experience in in vitro biological assays.
The PhD project is multidisciplinary and will be carried out at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences of the University of Barcelona. The PhD thesis will be co-supervised by Prof. Mercè Pallàs, from the Pharmacology Laboratory, and Prof. Carmen Escolano, from the Medicinal Chemistry Laboratory.
