Job Responsibilities
Leading and managing the Fire Prevention section, ensuring compliance with all applicable fire prevention standards and codes, including National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) regulations.
Developing, administering, and promoting fire prevention, protection, and public safety education programs to ensure the safety of personnel and mitigate risks.
Leading inspection programs to ensure facilities, equipment, and operations are compliant with fire safety requirements.
Reviewing and providing input on construction designs, building plans, and system installations to ensure compliance with fire codes and life safety standards.




Conducting fire hazard assessments and recommending corrective actions or mitigation plans to address identified risks.
Managing fire investigations to determine the cause of fires and utilizing findings to strengthen prevention programs.
Supervising a multi-national team of fire inspectors, providing guidance, training, scheduling, and performance management as necessary.
Ensuring operational readiness of all inspection, investigation, and prevention programs to meet mission-critical needs.
Preparing and maintaining accurate reports and records on fire inspections, investigations, findings, and corrective actions.
Serving as a critical point of liaison between the fire department, external agencies, and other stakeholder groups regarding fire prevention matters.
Minimum Requirements
A minimum of three years of experience leading an F &ES; fire prevention section or division in a fire department of similar size and scope to that of Diego Garcia.
