About the research group

Research at the Gene Regulation of Cell Identity Group aims at understanding how post-transcriptional regulatory mechanisms and their regulators, mainly RBPs and miRNAs, are involved in the establishment of cellular identity and how their dysregulation contributes to the development of neurodegenerative diseases. For this purpose, we use iPSCs to model neural differentiation in humans and study their differentiation process using a combination of molecular biology techniques with high-throughput omics and computational tools.

About the role The successful candidate will support experimental work in the lab. Tasks include the culture and differentiation of iPSC cell lines, characterization 2D human central nervous system models, and assessment of cellular phenotypes using imaging and molecular biology approaches. Additionally, the selected candidate will assist with laboratory organization, purchase, reagent preparation and experiment documentation.

The candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers.

Job requirements

Professional experience

- Previous experience working in a biomedical research lab with a similar role

Education and training
- Higher Vocational Training (Advanced Vocational Education and Training) in Health Sciences or related fields

Technical & soft skills
- Experience in mammalian cell culture, tissue manipulation and imaging techniques




- Experience in basic molecular biology techniques, including cloning, western blot and qPCR

Languages
- Good command of the English and Spanish language

We will value, but not required

- A university degree or higher qualification in Health Sciences or related fields, including Biomedicine, Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Biotechnology will be considered an asset.
- Previous experience with iPSC cell culture.
