ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions.

Senior

Accountant responsibilities include the execution of accounting closing tasks and related accounting processes for the assigned renewable energy portfolios within the MN8 Group, reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger, and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and recurring reviews. The adecuado candidate has also experience collaborating and/or managing a team of Accountants and Junior Accountants.

Daily work is performed on the group’s stand-alone and consolidated accounting systems, under American accounting policies (US GAAP) and SOX control environment. Senior Accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all our accounting tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded for projects and assigned companies.
- Calculation and recording of monthly, quarterly, and annual accruals.
- Monthly preparation of bank reconciliations.
- Review and analysis of intra-group items.
- Support for the determination of excess of cash for subsequent distribution.
- Monitoring of projects under development and construction.




- Analysis of the monthly closing and evaluation of the financial statements of the projects and companies assigned, including an analysis of budget deviations.
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results.
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency.
- Provide technical support and advice on Management Accountant.
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
- Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Liaise with our Managers and Senior Managers to improve financial procedures.

REQUISITES

- 3+ years of proven experience as a Financial Controller, Accounting Supervisor, or Senior Accountant.
- Advanced level of English.
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
- In-depth understanding of IFRS/US GAAP.
- Awareness of business trends.
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages.
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
- Bachelor's or Graduate degree in business administration, economy, accounting, or a related field.
- Experience in renewable energy field is a plus but not required.
