As a Backend-focused Software Engineer on Liferay’s Frontend Infrastructure team, you design and optimize the backbone of our frontend ecosystem, bridging core backend systems with client-facing frameworks. You build and refine backend frameworks, tools, and delivery pipelines that power data rendering, content editing, and secure, high-performance experiences. You collaborate with UX and Product to implement a shared vision, shaping scalable solutions used by thousands of developers and users globally.

This role offers impact through open source culture, international collaboration, and meaningful product foundations.

- Design and implement backend frameworks and delivery pipelines powering the frontend ecosystem
- Build tools and infrastructure for data rendering, content editing, caching, performance, and security
- Collaborate with UX Designers and Product Managers to realize shared vision

- Participate in peer reviews and contribute to a collaborative learning culture
- Utilize Git and GitHub daily (branches, merges, PRs, rebases)
- Work as a full-stack engineer with strong backend focus to enable frontend consumption of services

Responsabilidades

- +3 years of software engineering experience with best practices
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Agile development experience
- Proficient in Java, JavaScript (React), Freemarker, SQL
- Git proficiency and DVCS experience (git-flow, PRs, rebases)
- Experience xugodme writing enterprise-level code in one or more programming languages
- Strong learning mindset and ability to learn new skills
- Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
- Good communication skills for explaining complex topics
