Vacancy: Neurologist (2 FTE) - Netherlands

Help shape the future of neurological care

Are you a neurologist looking for an opportunity to develop your career in the Netherlands? We are currently looking for two neurologists to join a general hospital in Sneek on a permanent basis.

Your role

You will work in a modern clinical environment with excellent facilities supporting high-quality neurological care.

The Clinical Neurophysiology (CNP) department offers extensive diagnostic possibilities. Through close collaboration with a university medical centre, you will have direct access to neurosurgical expertise, including outpatient clinics and surgical sessions.

The Emergency Department is fully equipped for acute neurological care, with 24/7 support and a strong front-line team of certified emergency physicians. The Neurology department has 14 inpatient beds , including dedicated stroke beds.

This role offers the opportunity to practise the full scope of neurology while developing your own subspecialty interests. The department has a well-established Headache Centre with a regional referral function and an outpatient clinic in Emmeloord, where a new facility is currently being developed.

The neurology team

You will join a close-knit team of six dedicated neurologists working together in a professional and supportive environment.

The department is supported by specialist nurse consultants in:

- Stroke care




- Headache disorders
- Trauma
- Epilepsy
- Multiple sclerosis
- Parkinson’s disease

Additionally, the team includes a Parkinson’s nurse practitioner, experienced neurology nurses, and a Physician Assistant specialised in Neurology.

- You are a qualified neurologist or close to completing your training
- You enjoy practising the full scope of neurology
- You have strong communication skills and a practical mindset
- You enjoy working in a collaborative multidisciplinary team
- You are motivated to contribute to the further development of the department

- Salary according to the Dutch Medical Specialists Collective Labour Agreement (AMS): €8,694 - €15,090 gross per month
