Description

As a Database Architect, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative database solutions that support our organization’s strategic goals. You will play a key role in defining and driving the database strategy, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security of our data assets.

Key Responsibilities

- Database Strategy:
- Develop and articulate a long‑term database strategy that aligns with the organization’s business objectives and technology roadmap.
- Evaluate and recommend database technologies, platforms, and architectures to meet evolving business needs.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective database solutions.

- Database Design and Architecture:

- Design and implement complex database architectures, including mission‑critical OLTP systems and any other models the data platform requires.
- Develop data models, schemas, and normalization rules to ensure data integrity, consistency, and efficiency.
- Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and performance monitoring.
- Design software automation routines for the Database Engineers to follow and build upon.

- Data Governance:

- Establish and enforce data governance policies and standards to protect data quality and integrity.
- Develop data classification and retention strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.




- Implement data security measures to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access.

- Project Management:

- Together with the Database Engineering Team Manager you will lead and manage database‑related projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project goals.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful integration of database solutions.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in DBA work, database architecture and design.
- Proven track record of leading complex database projects and initiatives.
- Deep understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, including data modeling, normalization, and performance optimization.
- Experience with cloud‑based database platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with data platforms for both Microsoft (SQL Server) and Open Source technologies (Postgres and MySQL).

Desired Skills

- Experience with the latest infrastructural technologies for optimal performance.
- Experience with data virtualization and integration technologies.
- Experience with automation scripting and best practices (Ansible, Terraform and PowerShell).
- Certification in relevant database technologies.
