About NEW IDEA

NEW IDEA is an international fashion company headquartered in Shaoxing, China, with a design office in Barcelona. We develop womenswear collections for international clients, combining market insight, trend awareness, product quality and commercial relevance.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Fashion Designer with strong design skills, commercial awareness and a client-oriented mindset. You will contribute to collection design and product development while also supporting client meetings, presentations and product discussions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop womenswear collections based on trends, brand positioning and client needs.

• Prepare styles, fabrics, colour cards, samples and collection materials for client meetings.

• Join client visits and product presentations, translating client feedback into clear design and sample-development direction.

• Monitor market trends and competitors and provide commercially relevant product suggestions.

• Coordinate with design, sourcing, pattern-making and production teams in China to follow sample progress and quality.

• Participate in European market research, fabric sourcing and trade fairs, with travel within Europe and to China when required.

REQUIREMENTS





• 3+ years of womenswear or fast-fashion design experience;experience with woven products, Inditex, Mango or comparable brands is highly valued.

• Strong fashion design skills with commercial thinking and client awareness.

• Professional working proficiency in both English and Spanish.

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; strong sketching and presentation skills are valued.

• Proactive, confident and comfortable working in a multicultural environment and travelling when needed.

• Interest in Chinese culture or Chinese language skills is a plus.
