Responsibilities

The activities of Health Information Coordinator include chart organization, release of information (ROI) and other administrative tasks related to hospital medical records functions..Ensures timely completion of medical staff credentialing.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
● Demonstrates and understands the importance of and respect for the rights,



dignity and individuality of each patient in all interactions.
● Coordinates daily activities of medical records department.
● Provides communication to Physicians related to Health Information Management.
● Evaluates functions and procedures of medical records.
● Ensures departmental quality assurance for required compliance, accrediting agencies and regulatory issues.
● Coordinates the review of medical records for timely completion and documentation. Ensure all request for medical records are reported in an appropriate timely manner
● Coordinates procedures for release of medical information and correspondence requests according to company policies, state and federal statutes and laws.
● Organizes the storage, retrieval, archiving and destruction of medical records according to state statutes.
● Serves as liaison between clinical, clerical and administrative staff in issues involving data acquisition and analysis.
