The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing integral public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. Research is organized in five programs: Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health; Environment and Health over the Lifecourse; Global Viral and Bacterial Infections; Malaria and Neglected Parasitic Diseases and Maternal Child and Reproductive Health. ISGlobal is accredited with the Severo Ochoa distinction, a seal of excellence of the Spanish Science Ministry.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ISGlobal is seeking a highly motivated Community Nurse to join the Viral Hepatitis Research Line at the Public Health Liver Group. The successful candidate will be the dedicated nurse for “The Health Equity Programme: Hepatitis Outreach for Migrant Populations” (HEP-HOP) project.
The candidate will also play a key role in coordinating and organising community interventions for viral hepatitis education, screening and linkage to care activities for migrant and refugee populations across Catalonia.
The HEP-HOP project aims to contribute to overcoming barriers experienced by migrants and refugees in Europe to access and navigate prevention, screening, and care services for viral hepatitis. For that, HEP-HOP aims to improve, scale up, and evaluate community-based programmes for viral hepatitis screening, HBV vaccination, and linkage to care in Belgium, Latvia and Spain.
The project will be carried out in Catalonia, Spain, targeting migrant and refugee communities from mid- and high-prevalence countries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform basic nursing activities such as blood extractions, rapid diagnostic testing and vaccination during community-based interventions.
