Job SummaryAs the Structural Project Engineer III you will be responsible for developing applications that will analyze and optimize solar mounting systems using advanced Excel tools and programming languages. This role requires extensive collaboration with other Array Technologies teams and engineering contractors to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget. Working in both technical lead and project management capacities on the assigned automation programs, primarily related to structural engineering processes. Responsible for the technical execution of assigned projects, ensuring engineering deliverables are completed according to project schedules, quality standards and customer requirements. Additionally, supports pre-sales, contracting and execution phases of projects.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, analyze, and optimize solar mounting systems for assigned projects (metallic structures)Apply international building codes, standards, and engineering principles to analyze and design tracker structures, connections, and components using analytical tool based and computational based methodsDevelop and maintain advanced Excel tools and macros to facilitate solar mounting system design, analysis, and product configurationUtilize programming languages such as VBA, Python, or MATLAB to enhance the functionality of Excel tools, macros, and in-house software platformsAct as customer’s primary technical consultant during the project phase.Provide technical support to the customer on design, drawings, loads calculation, and product related discussionsAct as the internal technical leader for the assigned projects.Participate in project meetings, provide technical input, and estimate timelines and levels of effort as requiredResearch national and international building codes, and standards to determine wind, snow,
seismic and other governing loadsDefine and analyze tests to characterize the terrainDesign and calculation of foundations using L-Pile (or similar) and Geotech reportsDraft and check all drafting work for projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Solid WorksImplement change requestsManage product changes and communicate them to the customer when necessaryDevelop and review project specifications, calculations, and drawingsWork with internal stakeholders to produce automated engineering report and drawing templatesCreate a detailed tracker structure design report, and work with Professional Engineers/firms to certify the calculations and drawings of every projectCreate bills of material for each projectCollaborate with various Array Technologies engineering teams, engineering contractors, IT, PMO and other stakeholders as needed to meet product roadmap requirementsMaintain a thorough understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to solar mounting systemsPerform other duties as assignedBilingual English/Spanish skills RequiredQualificationsBachelor’s degree in industrial, civil, structural or geotechnical engineering +3 years’ experience in project engineering/management +5 years’ experience in Engineering Master’s degree preferredExperience in structural calculation TRICALC, CYPE (Metal 3D), ANSYS-CIVILFEM, CONSTELLProficient in Excel macros and programming languages such as VBA, Python, or MATLAB, Python highly preferredWorking knowledge of National building code standards like ASCE, Eurocode, AISC,
