Compliance Officer, Wallets

About The Role

Ria is building a digital wallet for customers who have historically been served by cash and remittance, turning one of the world's largest money movement networks into a true omnichannel financial product. Compliance is what lets that wallet cross borders, win licences, and scale without breaking. This role owns it, globally.

As Compliance Officer, Wallets, you will be the person the business turns to when they need to know whether an idea is possible, how to make it possible, and what doing it right looks like across the globe. You will be hands on, opinionated, and closer to product and engineering than to policy binders.

Your mission

Own the global compliance programme for Ria's wallet, including policies, risk assessments, monitoring, and controls, across every market it operates in.
Be the group level SME on how wallets actually work: funding, stored value, tokenisation, interoperability, payouts, cross border flows, and how compliance is embedded in these areas.
Partner with product from day zero on new features,



markets, and payment instruments so the right controls are built in, not bolted on.
Lead the deployment, calibration, and ongoing tuning of the financial crime tooling (transaction monitoring, sanctions, KYC, fraud) that protects the wallet end to end.
Act as a key compliance voice in the integral regulator relationship, covering supervision, examinations, and ongoing engagement, and support licensing workstreams in coordination with local MLROs and entity heads.
Keep Ria ahead of the regulatory curve (MiCA, PSD3, FinCEN rulemakings, local e money regimes) and translate it into concrete decisions the business can act on.
Report to senior management.
Report directly to the VP of Compliance, Digital Products and senior leadership on risks, choices, and trade offs, not noise.
