The project:

Our client in the Insurance sector, is seeking an experienced Actuary – Hospitalisation Insurance.

Main responsibilities:

Actuarial Closing and Reporting

- Perform and support periodic actuarial closing activities.
- Ensure accurate closing and reporting in accordance with:
- Belgian GAAP;
- Solvency II;
- IFRS 17.
- Analyse and interpret Profit and Loss results related to the Hospitalisation portfolio.
- Prepare and validate the actuarial data, calculations and statistics required for closing and reporting.
- Ensure consistency between actuarial results, accounting data and management reporting.

Platform Migration

- Support the migration of Hospitalisation Insurance activities to a new platform.
- Analyse the impact of the migration on actuarial processes, calculations and reporting.
- Ensure that the new platform is correctly integrated with accounting processes and systems.
- Coordinate and validate the different statistical outputs required for the Hospitalisation business.
- Identify data, process and reporting dependencies throughout the migration.
- Collaborate with actuarial, accounting, business and IT stakeholders to ensure a reliable transition.

Process and Model Improvement

- Review existing closing processes and identify opportunities for greater efficiency and automation.
- Improve the quality, consistency and traceability of actuarial closing activities.
- Contribute to the optimisation and documentation of procedures and controls.
- Review and improve the Liability Adequacy Test model for the Hospitalisation premium component.
- Validate model assumptions, calculations and outputs.




- Provide clear recommendations based on actuarial and financial analysis.

Is this you?

Required Experience and Skills

- At least three years of actuarial experience within Hospitalisation Insurance.
- At least three years of experience in actuarial or financial modelling.
- Practical knowledge of Belgian GAAP, Solvency II and IFRS 17 closing requirements.
- Experience interpreting Profit and Loss statements and actuarial results.
- Experience with Liability Adequacy Test models is strongly relevant.
- Good understanding of the relationship between actuarial calculations, accounting and statistical reporting.
- Experience with platform migrations or actuarial-system transformations is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Able to work autonomously and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail and focus on data and reporting quality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Able to collaborate effectively with actuarial, Finance, Accounting, Business and IT teams.
