Signatur Biosciences was established with the mission of making cutting-edge diagnostic tools accessible to more patients around the world. We've developed a technology to profile complex molecular signatures in a single reaction using qPCR machines already in place in every biomedical lab around the world. We're a startup based in Liège, Belgium, building a team of people who share our passion for solving this problem through close collaboration and a sense of urgency.

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven Lab Officer to join our team. Under the direction of the Head of Laboratory Operations, you will support the laboratory and site quality activities that underpin the development and manufacturing of our qPCR-based diagnostic kits — documentation, equipment, suppliers, stock, and Computer System Validation. You will join us at an exciting time as we are a small start-up looking to grow.

Responsibilities

- Write, review and maintain SOPs, Work Instructions, Forms and related QMS documents in accordance with ISO 13485 and IVDR.
- Review laboratory-generated documentation for completeness, traceability, data integrity and compliance.
- Support internal and external audits and inspections, preparing documentation and following actions through to closure.
- Support equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) and coordinate maintenance and calibration schedules.
- Monitor storage conditions and associated temperature-monitoring records.
- Request quotations, place orders and oversee delivery and reception of laboratory materials.




- Support supplier qualification records and consumable/reagent stock management.
- Contribute to Computer System Validation (CSV) activities and validation documentation.

Qualifications

Essential:

- Bachelor's degree with substantial relevant experience, or Master's degree, in Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or a related field.
- Strong understanding of laboratory operations — in particular supply chain — and of documentation practices.
- Excellent writing, organisation and documentation skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of data integrity principles (ALCOA+), and willingness to be trained on Computer System Validation.
- Fluent in English & French.

Desirable:

- Experience working within a Quality Management System for In Vitro Diagnostic or medical device development (ISO 13485), or an equivalent regulated environment.
- 3+ years of experience in biotech, diagnostics or IVD environments — candidates with less experience but strong fundamentals will still be considered.
- Hands-on experience in CSV / software validation, or familiarity with qPCR workflows.
- Experience in a start-up or fast-paced biotech environment.
