As an Electrical engineer in railway traction power, you contribute to design development, risk management, and value engineering of traction power systems and substations.
You collaborate across disciplines, may lead a team, and drive technically sound, safe, and reliable solutions aligned with AECOM standards.
You’ll work on improving rail infrastructure, delivering long-term performance and safety.
This role offers impact through scalable, cross-functional project delivery.
Compensaciones / Beneficios
• Contribute to design development, risk mitigation, and value engineering for traction power systems and substations across project stages
• Develop electrical studies and support TPS simulations to size systems and locate main equipment
• Space proofing design for TPS installations, including cable routing
• Produce technical reports, specifications, and liaise with BIM/CAD for drawings, BoQ, and docs
• Ensure adherence to good design practices and relevant standards (CENELEC, ANSI, IEEE)
• Coordinate interfaces and participate in design team meetings; defend designs to clients/reviewers
• Integrate design process within the System Engineering and System Assurance (SESA) framework of the project
• Attend design reviews and present rationale of design decisions to stakeholders
Responsabilidades
• Electrical engineer with at least 7 years of experience in railway traction power
• Proficient in English for project communication
• Etap Software experience
• Desirable: railway electrification (DC/AC), substation equipment specs, grounding/bonding networks, protective systems, and distributed control systems
• Knowledge of electrical substation design, testing, commissioning, and maintenance
• Experience with CAD/BIM is a plus
• Additional languages (French/Italian) are a plus
