We are currently looking for an Accountant to join our Finance Team in Barcelona, Spain.

Reporting to the Senior Accountant – Qualis, this role will focus on the accurate and timely processing of transactions through the MGA’s accounting systems in accordance with US GAAP and local accounting policies, performing reconciliations and supporting financial reporting and audits. This role will also be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of transactions through the Shared Service company’s accounting system in accordance with US GAAP and local accounting policies, performing reconciliations and supporting financial reporting and audits.

Essential Job Functions

· Ensure complying with the Group’s reporting calendar in producing complete, accurate, timely and auditable processing of transactions under both US and local GAAP.

· Perform some of the tasks below for some of the entities under Qualis and for service companies:

o Premium/commissions/claims related entries and non-technical journals (accruals, prepayments, provisions, VAT and corporate tax, statutory adjustments, deferred income, equity, etc.)



and related reconciliations o Intercompany bookings, allocations, reconciliations and settlements o Prepare Balance sheet validation/substantiation process and back-up support identifying and resolving issues affecting the integrity of the ledger o Reconciliation of accounts with 3rd parties where appropriate o Month end close processes and reporting in Qualis policy administration system o Maintain secondary ledgers for local reporting requirements

· Assist with:

o Internal and external audits o Preparation of financial statements in accordance with local accounting policies, management reporting packs and group reporting under US GAAP o Regulatory reporting o P&L; analysis and forecasting for financing/dividends/solvency and going concern o Improvement of controls and processes o Other duties may be assigned in order to meet the on-going needs of the organization

Qualifications, Experience, Competence

Qualifications

- Accounting knowledge

Experience

· Proven work experience in relevant accounting positions within a Finance Function.

· Workday Accounting package experience desirable

· Insurance intermediation experience desirable

Functional/Technical Competencies

· Excellent written and spoken English

· Spanish/Italian speaker a plus

· Ability to work methodically to meet deadlines

· Strong Communicator

· Able to work autonomously and in a team

· Intermediate Excel knowledge
