Role Description The Bicycle Mechanic role at bike2malaga is a full-time, on-site position based in Málaga.
The Bicycle
Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of bicycles to ensure they are safe, clean, and ready for rental or tours. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing mechanical issues, performing adjustments and replacements on brakes, gears, wheels, and other components, and conducting regular preventive maintenance. The role also involves organizing the workshop, maintaining an inventory of spare parts and tools,
and documenting completed work.
The Bicycle
Mechanic will interact with customers and colleagues, providing clear explanations of repairs, offering basic cycling and safety advice, and supporting the team during busy periods.
Qualifications
- Strong practical skills in Bicycle Repair and Bike Repair, with experience working on different types of Bikes and Bicycle components.
- Effective Communication skills to explain technical issues clearly, interact with customers in a friendly manner, and collaborate with team members.
- Attention to detail, ability to diagnose mechanical problems accurately, and commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Previous experience in a bicycle workshop, rental service, or similar environment is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site full time in Málaga, manage time efficiently, and stay organized in a busy workshop.
- Basic proficiency in relevant local languages (e.g., Spanish and English) is an advantage for customer interaction.
