We are working with a large international business expanding its IT Operations function. This is a strong opportunity for a junior engineer to build hands‐on experience supporting highly available NoSQL databases within a modern, integral technology environment.

The role

- Support the full lifecycle of NoSQL databases, from deployment and configuration through to monitoring, optimisation and upgrades
- Help maintain reliable, scalable database clusters across containerised and traditional environments
- Build monitoring, alerting and automation to improve database performance and reduce manual work
- Assist with incident response, capacity planning, documentation and disaster‐recovery readiness
- Collaborate with SRE, platform engineering and application teams on database‐related projects





What we're looking for:
- 2+ years' experience in IT Operations, SRE, database administration or infrastructure engineering
- Hands‐on exposure to at least one NoSQL technology, such as MongoDB, Cassandra or Elasticsearch
- Good Linux administration and scripting skills, ideally Python and/or Shell
- Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, Puppet or similar automation tools
- Exposure to Docker xkdbapo and/or Kubernetes
- Understanding of monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimisation in distributed systems
- Strong problem‐solving skills, clear communication and a willingness to learn
- Cloud certifications or knowledge of SQL databases would be beneficial
