Role Description This full-time Quantum Computing Technician role at Cybertix Simulation Technologies is a hybrid position based in San Sebastián, with flexibility for partial work from home. The technician supports quantum simulation platforms by maintaining and configuring quantum hardware testbeds, assisting with experimental setups, and monitoring system performance.

Day-to-day responsibilities include running and validating quantum algorithms, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and documenting procedures, test results, and incident reports. The role also involves collaborating with software developers and cybersecurity specialists to ensure secure, reliable integration between quantum systems, classical infrastructure, and simulation environments. The technician contributes to continuous improvement by proposing enhancements to tooling, automation, and data workflows, and by following established safety, security, and quality standards.

Qualifications

- Strong programming and software development skills, with experience in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, C++, or Java) and familiarity with scripting for automation.




- Knowledge of databases and data management, including basic database design, querying, and handling experimental or simulation data securely and efficiently.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and network security practices to help protect quantum and classical systems, interfaces, and data pipelines.
- Experience or coursework in quantum computing, physics, or related fields, with familiarity in quantum gates, qubits, and basic quantum algorithms.
- Comfort with Linux-based environments, version control (e.g., Git), and standard development tools used in technical and research settings.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills, with the ability to follow complex procedures and translate technical findings into clear reports.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills, and ability to work in a hybrid setting, coordinating with onsite and remote team members.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
