Position Summary:
This position reports to the Vice President of Wine & Spirits Sourcing & Supplier Relations and is part of a team that specializes in providing wine & adult beverage (spirits & ready to drink cocktails) solutions for the transportation industry. This position will be the AMI subject matter expert for Old World Wine regions, responsible for the management & development of an ‘Old World’ Wine portfolio.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Old World Wine Region portfolio management directed toward:
o ensuring AMI maintains a diverse & balanced portfolio. o Responding successfully to official Requests for Proposal (RFP)
o securing best pricing o identifying special pricing opportunities o capitalizing on trends or opportunities
- Portfolio
o Develop an in-depth knowledge of product offerings & brand stories. o Strategic planning with large core suppliers (with VP)
o Pursuing new representation enquiries, manage on a database (with ESA)
o Seek out new core supplier partners with relevance to sales opportunities.
o Management of the onboarding Process for new suppliers
- Maintain AMI Wines & Alcoholic Beverage Master Portfolios (includes where appropriate updated pricing, product specs, presentation material content)

o Identify relevant target suppliers. o Provide compelling information on supplier / brand / wine.
o Guide in final submission selection (with VP & Commercial Team)
- Sales presentation content
- Provide support data/brand information for:
- Specific bids
- Proactive opportunistic initiatives
- Limited availability opportunities (special offers / spot buys)
- Co-ordinate presentation material development (with ESA) plus Marketing Team & / or commercial team where relevant
- Data Management (Integral)
– Industry
- Identify current & new trends, categories, products & data sources.
o Manage collaboratively (with ESA) content for AMI industry data file (trends, product performance, market conditions) o Communication of trends & relevant industry information to commercial team as appropriate.
- Data management – Suppliers
- Maintain Old World portion of online portfolio database, products, price points, key brand points (with ESA)
- Conduct Extensive Tastings
o Ongoing for designated major categories / common requirements/ specific price points. o New supplier validation o Maintain a comprehensive Ongoing Tasting Record File
- Attend industry relevant Trade Shows, Tastings & Events
Basic Skills:
- Business minded acumen.
- Extensive knowledge of ‘Old World’ wine regions & varietals
- Ability to assess wine according to established criteria – quality, value, relevance, from entry level mass marketed wines to higher end qualities.
- Ability to multi-task & pivot

Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Excel essential
- Power Point / Canva proficiency an advantage
- Ability to utilize technology to work efficiently and improve the level of service & support.
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelors Degree in Business Management, Communications or Marketing
- Wine knowledge of global wine regions
- WSET III or higher essential
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years adult beverage industry experience.
- Wine purchasing or wine sales.
- Inside and / or outside sales experience within beverage industry
