Setline Studio is looking to connect with experienced freelance Stage Operators for upcoming Virtual Production opportunities in Barcelona.

We are interested in technically strong professionals who can take ownership of the day-to-day operation of a Virtual Production stage, ensuring that the LED environment, tracking systems, real-time content and supporting technical infrastructure work reliably throughout production.

The role

As a Stage Operator, you will help prepare, operate and supervise the technical stage environment before and during shoots.

Your responsibilities may include

- Preparing and operating LED volume systems for production.
- Checking LED panels and identifying technical or visual issues before shooting begins.
- Adjusting display parameters such as brightness, colour balance and panel consistency.
- Supporting the setup and calibration of camera tracking systems.
- Monitoring tracking accuracy throughout production and resolving alignment or drift issues when necessary.
- Operating Unreal Engine environments used for real-time Virtual Production.
- Checking scene performance, frame rate and playback stability.
- Helping maintain synchronisation between cameras, rendering systems and LED displays.
- Supporting lighting integration through DMX-controlled systems and making technical adjustments during shoots.
- Working closely with camera, lighting, direction and production teams to respond to technical requirements in real time.
- Monitoring the stage environment and ensuring equipment is operated safely.
- Recording technical incidents,



adjustments and relevant production information for future reference.

What we are looking for

We are particularly interested in professionals with hands-on experience in several of the following areas:

- LED volume operation and troubleshooting.
- Professional LED systems, ideally including experience with ROE Visual or comparable platforms.
- Camera tracking technologies used in Virtual Production.
- Unreal Engine for real-time production environments.
- Genlock, synchronisation and signal workflows.
- DMX lighting control and studio lighting systems.
- Technical diagnostics in live production environments.
- Stage safety and equipment monitoring.

Experience with systems such as HTC Vive Mars CamTrack or similar tracking solutions will be highly valued.

The person

Technical knowledge is essential, but this role also requires someone who works well in a live production environment.

- Methodical and reliable when preparing complex technical systems.
- Calm and effective when troubleshooting under time pressure.
- Comfortable communicating clearly with both technical and creative teams.
- Proactive in spotting potential problems before they affect the shoot.
- Used to working in fast-moving, high-volume production environments.
- Organised when documenting technical issues and changes.
- Collaborative and comfortable working alongside directors, camera teams, lighting teams and production crews.
