TechOps Engineer / IT Engineer — 3–6 Month FTC

We're building the next generation of commodity trading platforms — replacing the fragmented tools traders typically rely on with a single, powerful dashboard. Our product aggregates real-time feeds from across the commodities domain and turns them into intuitive, actionable visualisations in one unified interface.

We're growing fast off the back of a $42M Series B, and this is an early-stage opportunity to build your career with a level of ownership and impact you don't get at bigger, more bureaucratic companies.

Fixed-term contract with opportunity to go permanent — 3–6 months | Immediate start required The role

We need an experienced TechOps engineer to step in and keep our internal technology running — identity and access, devices, security, networking and day-to-day support — while we manage a gap in the team.

This is a cover role, not a transformation project. Our systems, processes and standards are already in place; we need someone who can pick them up fast, run them reliably, and hand back a team that hasn't missed a beat. You'll be hands-on from day one: some days that's an access policy or an access review, other days it's boxing up a laptop for a new joiner or triaging a security ticket.

You're comfortable across the full stack of workplace technology — identity platform, device management, core productivity suite — and confident enough around cloud, VPNs and DNS to talk to the infrastructure team without missing a beat.

What you'll do

Identity & access

Keep the identity platform running smoothly — joiners, movers and leavers, SSO, Conditional Access, MFA, groups and access reviews. Manage cloud access federated via IAM Identity Center.

Devices & endpoints





Maintain device management — provisioning via Autopilot, compliance baselines, patching and asset tracking. Administer enterprise device enrolment, managed IDs, licences, and hardware ordering.

Microsoft 365 & SaaS administration

Keep the core productivity suite running (mail, chat, file storage) — mailboxes, groups, licences and tenant configuration. Administer the rest of the toolchain: project/wiki tools, chat, and code hosting.

Onboarding & offboarding

Deliver a smooth, secure joiner/leaver process end to end — identity accounts, enrolled hardware, mailbox, VPN and app access — without interruption while the permanent hire is sorted.

Networking & connectivity

Manage office network, Wi-Fi and VPN access, and troubleshoot connectivity for on-site and remote staff.

Support & operations

Be the senior escalation point for internal technical support. Keep runbooks and documentation current. Handle the practical, hands-on side of TechOps — sourcing peripherals, preparing and shipping hardware, keeping equipment stock.

Security & compliance

Maintain access, MFA and endpoint-hardening standards, and support any audits that come up during the contract.

About you

- 5+ years in TechOps / workplace technology, including senior-level ownership — you can walk into an existing setup and run it, not just build one from scratch
- Hands-on identity administration — SSO, Conditional Access, MFA, identity lifecycle
- Strong device management and core productivity suite administration
- Solid networking fundamentals — DNS, VPNs, Wi-Fi, firewalls
- Comfortable around cloud (IAM, IAM Identity Center) and basic infrastructure concepts
- Scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash or Python), ideally against an identity/graph API
- Able to get up to speed quickly, work independently, and keep things running with minimal handover time
- Excellent communication and a genuine service mindset — calm and methodical under pressure

Nice to have

- Cloud depth (IAM Identity Center, Organizations, SSM) and exposure to an engineering CI/CD toolchain
- Relevant certifications or equivalent
- Experience in a regulated / financial-data environment
