Our client, a major organization operating in the energy sector, is seeking an experienced Business Program Manager to support the implementation of a strategic Energy Management System (EMS) delivered as a SaaS solution by an external vendor.

The successful candidate will act as the primary representative of the business throughout the entire project lifecycle, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure successful delivery, stakeholder alignment, and business value realization.

This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, business transformation expertise, and deep knowledge of Energy Management Systems within a complex multi-stakeholder environment.

Key Responsibilities

Business Leadership

- Represent business interests throughout the project lifecycle.
- Gather, define, validate, and document business requirements.
- Maintain the functional vision of the EMS platform.
- Ensure alignment between business objectives and delivered capabilities.
- Act as the primary Voice of the Business for functional decisions.

Functional Governance

- Ensure consistency between business requirements, tender documentation, vendor proposals, solution configuration, and testing activities.
- Lead functional decision-making during implementation.
- Validate supplier analyses, solution design proposals, and configurations.
- Guarantee traceability between business requirements and delivered functionalities.

Stakeholder Management

- Serve as the main business point of contact.
- Facilitate collaboration between business teams, IT departments, and external suppliers.
- Organize and lead workshops with key stakeholders.
- Support decision-making processes across multiple business domains.
- Balance competing priorities while maintaining a neutral and objective approach.

Business Adoption & Change Management





- Lead Business Acceptance Testing (BAT/UAT) activities.
- Coordinate end-user validation processes.
- Drive business readiness and user adoption.
- Ensure the solution supports both operational and strategic objectives.
- Contribute to organizational change management initiatives.

Team Leadership

- Lead and coordinate the dedicated business team.
- Provide guidance, prioritization, and day-to-day direction.
- Coordinate activities involving Business Process Analysts and Testing resources.
- Assess and plan resource requirements across project phases.

Knowledge Transfer & Continuous Improvement

- Ensure effective knowledge transfer during implementation.
- Support business continuity following go-live.
- Contribute to post-implementation support and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience

- Proven experience in a Business Lead, Business Program Manager, Business Transformation Manager, or similar role.
- Strong experience within the energy sector.
- Hands-on experience with Energy Management Systems (EMS) or comparable SaaS platforms.
- Experience managing large-scale energy portfolios and energy monitoring environments covering 1,000+ buildings.
- Knowledge of energy optimization methodologies and performance measurement frameworks (e.g. IPMVP).
- Experience with energy procurement and invoice verification processes.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with public procurement processes and Request for Proposal (RFP) environments.
- Good understanding of SaaS solutions, including configuration capabilities and integration constraints.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience with Jira.
- Previous experience within a Distribution Grid Operator (DGO) environment is a strong advantage.

Languages

- Fluent English.
- Fluent Dutch or French, with a good command of the second national language.
