Senior Kubernetes / OpenShift Platform Engineer
to join our team for a multinational leader in the
financial sector .
This is a hands-on platform engineering position focused on the
administration, operation and evolution of Kubernetes environments in production . We are looking for someone who understands Kubernetes beyond application deployments and is comfortable working at
cluster, control-plane, node, networking and infrastructure level .
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate, administer and evolve
Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift platforms
in critical production environments, ensuring reliability, security, scalability and high availability. • Build, configure and maintain Kubernetes clusters and their underlying infrastructure, working with
control-plane components, worker nodes, networking, storage, scheduling and cluster lifecycle operations . • Troubleshoot complex platform incidents involving Pods, nodes, networking, storage, scheduling and Kubernetes control-plane components, identifying root causes and implementing permanent solutions. • Design and improve
highly available Kubernetes architectures , including control-plane resilience, multi-node deployments • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration and operational tasks using
Ansible, Terraform, Helm and Bash/Python , reducing manual intervention and improving platform consistency. • Work closely with DevOps, SRE,
Infrastructure, Application and Security teams
Skills Essential: • Strong hands-on experience
administering Kubernetes clusters in production • Solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture and core components, including
kube-apiserver, etcd, kube-scheduler, controller-manager, kubelet and worker nodes . • Experience with Kubernetes scheduling and workload placement using
labels, nodeSelector, affinity/anti-affinity and taints/tolerations . • Experience troubleshooting Kubernetes at platform level, including
node failures, Pending/CrashLooping workloads, networking, resource constraints and cluster-level incidents . • Strong understanding of
high availability, scalability and resilient Kubernetes architectures , including control-plane redundancy and multi-zone or multi-datacenter deployments. • Strong Linux/Unix administration skills and confidence diagnosing issues at operating-system and infrastructure level. • Experience with Kubernetes networking concepts such as
CNI, Ingress/Egress, Load Balancers, NetworkPolicy and service connectivity . • Experience with Kubernetes persistent storage concepts such as
Persistent Volumes, Persistent Volume Claims, StorageClasses and CSI drivers . • Hands-on experience with
Ansible and Terraform
for infrastructure and configuration automation. • Experience with monitoring and observability solutions such as
Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager,
OpenTelemetry, Splunk or similar . Highly Valued: • Hands-on experience with
Red Hat OpenShift 3.x/4.x , including administration, upgrades and troubleshooting. • Knowledge of
OpenShift Projects, Routes, Operators and Red Hat CoreOS . • Experience managing OpenShift nodes through
MachineConfig and MachineConfigPool , including OS-level configuration changes such as networking, SSH or NTP. • Experience building or participating directly in the
implementation of Kubernetes clusters from scratch . • Experience with large-scale, multi-cluster or multi-region Kubernetes environments. • Experience with CI/CD and GitOps tooling such as
Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, GitHub Actions or Argo CD .
