Offer Description
Within the joint activities between Thermophoton and the Instituto de Energía Solar of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, we are looking for candidates to undertake an industrial doctoral thesis in the field of long-duration thermal energy storage and industrial steam generation using thermosyphon systems.
The research will focus on the modeling, experimental design, and validation of industrial steam generation systems coupled to heat sources above 1200°C.
A full-time employment contract is offered for three years to carry out the doctoral thesis at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
Requirements
Research Field Engineering » Thermal engineering Education Level Master Degree or equivalent




Development of physical and numerical models of thermosyphons and two-phase thermal systems.
Simulation and analysis of heat transfer using Python, MATLAB, and modeling tools.
Experimental design of prototypes for industrial steam generation.
Instrumentation and characterization of test rigs.
Analysis and processing of experimental data.
Writing and development of the doctoral thesis.
Participation in scientific publications and international conferences.
Specific Requirements
Master’s degree qualifying for admission to doctoral studies. Degrees obtained abroad must be recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.
Training in Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
Interest in applied research and technological development.
Languages SPANISH Level Excellent
