The Role

As a PHP team lead at eCarsTrade, you will be at the forefront of our platform's development, contributing to its scalability, reliability, and performance.

You will work alongside a talented team of developers and collaborate with various stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that drive business growth.

We are looking for a technical leader with expertise in PHP and popular frameworks (Symfony, Laravel), experience with complex systems, containerization (Docker), queues, and caching, and who can improve the team's performance and inspire excellence within the team.

This is a hands-on role. A Team Lead at eCarsTrade is more of a developer than a manager (approximately a 70/30 split).

Responsibilities:

- Lead a team of developers: plan their work, manage timelines and ensure code quality, improve development processes, mentor engineers.
- Manage technical debt across owned services, take ownership of technology decisions.
- Lead efforts to optimize backend performance, reliability, and scalability. Apply best practices and modern technologies to achieve these goals.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, product managers, frontend,



ML developers and other teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Design, develop and enhance backend applications using PHP to support eCarsTrade's auction platform.
- Utilize Docker for containerization and orchestration, ensuring seamless deployment and scalability.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and delivery processes, ensuring rapid and reliable releases.
- Maintain a customer-centric approach, focusing on delivering value-added features and enhancements that meet the needs of our users.

Requirements:

- 6+ years of hands-on experience in PHP development.
- 2+ years of team leadership experience
- Leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate team members, drive technical initiatives, and lead by example.
- Proficiency in Docker for containerization and deployment of applications.
- Experience with implementing and optimizing queues for background processing of tasks.
- Solid understanding of scaling principles for backend systems and infrastructure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a passion for writing clean, efficient code.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on schedule and within budget.
- Experience with CI/CD principles and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
- Proficiency in both English and Russian is mandatory.
