Job Title: Freelance SAP S/4HANA Developer (Migration Focus) (1-Year Contract)

Location: Belgium (Hybrid: 3 days on-site, 2 days remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Freelance SAP S/4HANA Developer to support our migration from legacy SAP systems to SAP S/4HANA. In this role, you will play a key part in modernizing our SAP landscape, optimizing existing ABAP code for SAP HANA, and developing new functionalities using S/4HANA’s advanced features. Your expertise will ensure a smooth transition, improved performance, and enhanced usability of our SAP environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Migrate from legacy SAP systems (ECC, BW) to SAP S/4HANA.
- Analyze and optimize existing ABAP code for SAP HANA compatibility (e.g., replacing database access with CDS views, AMDP, or Open SQL).
- Develop custom SAP S/4HANA solutions using ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, OData, and Fiori apps.
- Migrate custom reports, interfaces, and workflows to S/4HANA, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Leverage SAP S/4HANA innovations (e.g., Fiori UX, embedded analytics, real-time reporting) to improve business processes.
- Collaborate with functional consultants to align technical solutions with business requirements.
- Perform system testing (unit, integration, UAT) and resolve migration-related issues.
- Document migration steps, configurations, and custom developments for future reference.
- Work closely with the migration team to ensure adherence to SAP Activate methodology and timelines.





Idóneo Candidate Profile

Experience

- 5+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development, with 2+ years in SAP S/4HANA or migration projects.
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA (implementation or migration) is mandatory.
- Proficiency in ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, and AMDP for database optimization.
- Experience with SAP Fiori and OData for modern UI/UX development.
- Knowledge of SAP Migration Cockpit and SAP Readiness Check for migration planning.
- Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology for S/4HANA implementations.
- Experience with custom code migration (using SAP Custom Code Migration Workbench).
- Exposure to SAP HANA (SQLScript, modeling) is a strong plus.

Languages

- Fluent in English (required for collaboration).
- Fluent in French or Dutch (required for client/stakeholder communication).
